Paul may not be first to arrive, but he will always be there. He is quiet, but dependable as they come. Being in the middle of a family of five, Paul is always looking to escape the chaos of his house for the company of his friends. He does not like to get dirty and needs his blankie to get to sleep at night. He is the middle child in a blended family. He has two stepsiblings, Patti and Peter, from his mom's first marriage.

Tom and Carol Brown have a blended household in which Patti and Peter visit their father, Phil Simpson, on weekends. The children have done a good job of getting along but their house is a bit cramped with five children. Paul's sister Paige is only 18 months younger and tends to follow him and the gang around the neighborhood.
