Project Play books were created to inspire children to begin a journey of their own – that feeds the imagination and rewards creativity. Each book features Sam and the Edgebrook gang playing games and learning from each other. The text is casual and light-hearted, and each volume is crafted to grow with young readers.
Rhyming Books
The first three books in the series — Treasure Hunt, Follow the Leader, and Just a Baseball Game, introduce the Edgebrook gang. Presented in hardcover, these books have a simple rhyming structure for beginning readers.
Chapter Books
The next two in the series, Kick the Can and Ghost in the Graveyard, are paperback chapter books for the grammar school reader.
Treasure Hunt
A fun trip through Sam’s house, hunting for clues and finding the hidden treasure. Kids will enjoy looking for the clues on each page. The book also comes with clues that parents and children can use to create their own treasure hunts.
Follow the Leader
Follow Sam through Edgebrook as he picks up his pals and entertains the gang on a rainy day. Kids will pick up tips for playing the game of Follow the Leader with their friends.
Just a Baseball Game
Sam and his friends deal with the reality of bad sportsmanship by sticking together. This book will teach us all to be good sports and to enjoy "just playing ball." The book comes with baseball cards for all the characters.
Kick the Can
Play this timeless game with the kids of Edgebrook at their neighborhood block party. The book comes with the rules of the game and the inspiration for your kids to get out and play.
Ghost in the Graveyard
Sam and his pals enjoy a nighttime game of Ghost in the Graveyard. Join the fun as they hide and hunt for the whole gang throughout
the neighborhood.
In the works
Charades – A playful guessing game where the kids act out clues and work as teams to win.
Hand Jive – A wonderful tradition is captured in the "Crazy Billy" hand jive game as the girls learn the movements and the song.
Cops & Robbers – The ultimate game of catch as the kids work to capture all the robbers and put them in "jail".
Scavenger Hunt – A wonderful game of searching as the kids compete to find everything on the scavenger list throughout the neighborhood.
